Trails and Cabins
Take a look at our Nordic Pulse live map to see which trails have been packed and tracked this weekend: www.castlegarnordic.ca/trail-conditions/
The snow pack is off to a very good start this season and the grooming team has been out all week preparing the trails, so we think you’ll be very happy with the conditions you’re going to find!
(Fresh tracks from this week!)
Most of the trails were packed and tracked on Friday and will be redone again Saturday and Sunday, with exception of a few trails on south facing aspects. We’ll have them open as soon as the weather gets a touch colder.
All of the Cabins have been cleaned, stocked with firewood and refurnished with new benches and dining tables. Enjoy!
Skate Skiing and Snowshoeing
Skate Ski trails: Our skate ski trails will take a couple of additional weeks to prepare as we widen the trails more with additional snow pack. Currently all trails are classic-skiing only.
Have a look at our updated trail map to see which trails are good for skate skiing: https://www.castlegarnordic.ca/trails-and-maps/
Snowshoeing trail: This year we are opening a snowshoeing trail accessible from the far side of the bridge on Mud Lake. The map for the snowshoe trail will be posted on our Trails and Maps page and at the Mud-Lake trailhead once trail preparation has been completed.
Trail Safety
Trail Safety is our priority and we hope that it is yours as well!
Please review the safety rules and recommendations posted at our trail heads.
Please pack to be prepared for all weather conditions and possible emergency situations.
Please ski with caution, Its still November!
Enjoy the trails and we wish you all a great season from the Castlegar Nordic Ski Club!
