For decades the Paulson Nordic Ski Trails have offered something truly special. In recent years, the Castlegar Nordic Ski Club has made major improvements to our trail grooming program, resulting in more consistent conditions, safer trails, and overwhelmingly positive feedback from skiers from all around the world. Now, with over 60 km of remote, and serene cross-country trails, this West Kootenay winter experience is in a class of its own.
But maintaining this level of quality depends on reliable, specialized grooming equipment that works day after day across thousands of kilometres of trails in every kind of winter condition. After years of heavy use, some of our most essential machines now require major repairs or replacement.
Fundraising Goal:
- We are launching a 2-year fundraising project to upgrade and repair the core equipment that keeps our trails running. Our immediate goal is to raise $12,500 by the end of this season toward the purchase of a new grooming snowmobile and critical replacement parts to repair our roller packer.
- If we can raise $4,000 in the first month, Nordiq Canada may match 50% of those funds, making your donation go even further.
These upgrades will allow us to replace our oldest snowmobile with a reliable 4-stroke Polaris, restore a broken roller packer essential for narrow and deep-snow trails, and, in the following season, replace a 20-year-old Ginzu track-setter that is increasingly difficult to keep running. Together, these investments ensure safer operations, more reliable grooming, and consistently excellent ski conditions for years to come.
This is a big mission for our small-community club. Every contribution, large or small, directly supports the trails you ski, love, and share. With your help, we can keep the Paulson Nordic Ski Trails strong, sustainable, and beautifully groomed for our entire community.
Thanks to everyone who contributes to CNSC in whatever way they can, donors, volunteers, members and skiers!
