Trail Opening Info 2025

Castlegar Nordic Ski Club will not have trails open for the Nov 22nd/23rd weekend.

Though we’ve seen more than enough precipitation on the Paulson over the past few weeks, which had our hopes high, the weather has been much milder than anticipated. Snow patches have been reduced to only the shadiest pockets of the trails.

There is a possibility that we will receive snow over the weekend, however forecasts are indicating very little accumulation.

But our eyes are on the trails, and our trail grooming team is on stand-by, and as soon as the conditions allow us, we will begin opening trails! The conditions we are looking for is a base snowfall of at least 15cms, with temperatures cool enough that the snow can “set-up” overnight so that it can be compacted without our grooming equipment causing damage to that layer.
